Working Concept of HA rsync script

Overview:

  There are 2 scripts.

-         standby.sh

-         pull_data.sh

The above scripts should be copied in Standby server in /root/netgain/bin/ha directory.

Standby.sh

                This script checks the primary server‘s availability and Primary Server NetGain web interface availability.  If either primary server cannot ping or NetGain web interface is not available, it will switch over to standby server and the NetGain EM service of Standby server will be started.

                Then,  we  need to manually comment the crontab entry of pull data in Standby server

                Once Primary server is available, it will stop EM service of Standby server. 

                T hen, we  need to manually uncomment the crontab entry of pull data in Standby server

the fallback from standby to active server shall be manual i.e. stop the backup server, copy necessary data from standby to active and start the active server again.

Pull_data.sh

                This script pulls the data (/root/netgain/var/*.db and previous day and today’s performance data) from the primary server and save it in /root/netgain/var/perf directory of Standby server
