Snmpwalk timeout issue:

An SNMP walk is  to set up the collection of information from your routers, switches or other SNMP enabled devices.

  • Snmpwalk  timeout happens very rarely. Any of the following reasons can cause snmpwalk file timeout:

1. Device is down.As you try to ping to the respective device, not able to ping.

2. Even though Device is up (able to ping) , but Snmp service not turn on.Try to TURN ON snmp services.

3. Device is up (able to ping) and Snmp services turned on, but still time out.In this case check Community string and IP

4. Device is up, Snmpservice is up, correct community string, but SNMPwalk data show Timeout halfway. The reason is SNMPWALK data too huge, need to increase timeout(ms) to larger.

5. Firewall blocking SNMP access to the device
